Blending rhythmic noise and dark electronic experimentation, Fraqtured : Sound began to take shape in the Winter of 1999. From the onset, the intention was to incorporate stylistic reverence to writing, recording, and performing that were prevalent in the early influences of the punk and metal scenes of the PNW.
Fraqtured : Sound soon found a prolific outlet in the warehouse, pop up venue, and basement scenes; performing alongside luminaries in local and International Black Metal, Death Rock, Punk, and Industrial acts. From the sound systems of noise collectives hidden deep in the woods, through the abandoned spaces of Old Town Portland that had been reclaimed all the way to the stages of landmark venues; Fraqtured : Sound brought a pensive, brooding, churning rhythm.
This year brings the return of Fraqtured : Sound after a nearly 10 year hiatus during which his focus shifted to his work with other performers, artists, and projects. The collection of recordings, “Soundscapes of the Forgotten” was released in 2023, and with a new album slated for early 2024, Fraqtured : Sound returns to once again invite you to close your eyes, to remember, and to know.
From somewhere between the beginning and the end of everything, the soundscape of the forgotten echos throughout and within. In reflection and in resonance, Fraqtured : Sound manifests dark electro and the ritual of noise, invoking what was, what is, and what shall be.
